We have an opportunity and a challenge in the same issue. Thousands of people coming every weekend to see all the beauty and wonderful things Jim Thorpe has to offer and many more to come in the near future. Will we plan for those people in a responsible way? Or continue to allow challenges to become problems that we have to struggle to address in real time? Please support the plan and consider becoming part of the conversation.

Something like this? They can put their bags in and roll it through downtown. This particular one has a seat option with it, which would also benefit our visitors
By rezoning the downtown, while preserving the home life, ifs the best course. It’ll bring more revenue to Jim Thorpe as well, to expand the downtown area. It keeps it all within walking distance to parking. A thought, maybe a vendor at the train station, to rent thin carts for carrying bags to reduce excessive walking for our visitors.
The rezoning should be a part of a larger long term development plan for the entire city. Is there such a plan? This larger plan must meet everyone's needs, and take into account future growth. This should be the primary focus of the city council. It seems to me the previous city councils never adequtly confronted this. And it is time to make this commitment.
